HMCS Rosthern Crew 1943

I can't tell you how delighted I was to discover that National Archives had a photo of my father while he was a Navy sailor on the HMCS Rosthern!  As I may have mentioned before, I have been busy helping my Dad edit his 'Life Story' and plan on creating a book for him including his photos.   I am learning where I get my obsession with telling visual stories and preserving moments.   Prior to joining up with the Navy, Dad used to enjoy taking photos and he even had his own darkroom.  During the war and while at sea, he photographed life at sea during WWII and developed them in the bathtub  - to make them 'shiny'.

Anyway, he has yet to give me his album, where my task will be to scan in those little tiny photos and make bigger so that they can be printed in his book.

In the meantime, here is that photo I got from National Archives - File no 142396.
