Casino Royale at Earnscliffe

Sometimes I get to go to some pretty interesting events for Hello! Canada magazine.  The latest one was a Casino Royale evening at the British High Commissioner's residence to raise funds for

Project North

 - a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in Canada's north.   In particular they have been sending hockey equipment up-north as Canadian hockey has become an important part of Inuit culture.  The $500 dollar a ticket James Bond themed evening raised $55,000 for the cause.  Having spent much of my childhood in the North:  three years in Churchill, Manitoba and two years in Inuvik, NWT this cause resonated highly with me.  I especially enjoyed the throat singing demonstration and the performance by

Susan Aglukark
