Date Square
Yesterday after having dropped off my puppy to be groomed I stopped in at a Cafe in Manotick and decided to relax with a cup of tea and for something a little sweet, I asked for a date square.
The whole thing cost over $6 which I thought to be on the pricey side. Oh well, it is a nice atmosphere for a cup of tea with tons of magazines and newspapers lying around for customers to enjoy.
My cup of tea and date was served to me a short while later. I was impressed with the way it was presented. You could tell that the Cafe owner put some thought into presenting something memorable! The date square was served on a nice plate with a little bit of cut fruit on the side and then chocolate icing was drizzled all over the date square and the plate. Needless to say an ordinary cellophane wrapped date square was transformed into an elegant dessert. It was beautifully presented, yummy and I will defintely go back.

I feel this way about my photography. When photographing a wedding for example, there is so much work involved in the shooting of the actual wedding, followed by editing and post production. I will often spend another 30 or more hours in getting the images just right for the client. After all that work, for some reason I just can't simply copy them over to a $1CD and give them to the client in that way. I need to create something tangible, beautiful and something that would be representative of the work and care I put into my photography. For this reason, all my wedding packages come with an arte decor photo book. This beautiful book highlights timeless memories, with quality materials and a luxurious appeal that will be treasured for years.
