Recently I had the opportunity to photograph the French Embassy in Ottawa for Diplomat and International Canada magazine's fall 2012 issue. Here are some of my favourite images.
His Excellency Philippe Zeller Ambassador-designate of the French Republic and his wife Odile
Wall sketchings from the Ambassador's office
The Grand Salon
The Dining Room with it's famous wall painting (which had been painted over in the 40's because it offended the visiting bishop)
When this was originally painted in 1938 it was to depict labour unrest, however with the start of the war and the Nazi invasion of France, the date was changed to 1939 and its meaning changed to depict french solidarity and resistance.
