I took this photo in early March of 2020. It was just prior to much of Canada shutting down due to the global pandemic. I had an eerie sense at the time that life as we knew it was about to change considerably. Little did I know that one of my favourite pastimes of chilling out in a local cafe would not be doable in the foreseeable future. I was drawn to its name: Dreamland Cafe and the bright pink colour of the architecture, surrounded by remnants of a snowbank on an otherwise dreary grey day. It also reminded me of a previous artwork I did from my Life in the Knife series: The Pink Houseboat.
